DietScan is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we handle when you use DietScan.

The short version: we do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.

Data We Do Not Collect

DietScan does not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any account information
• Your location data
• Photos or camera images (processed on-device only)
• Your dietary preferences or scan history
• Any personally identifiable information

How the App Works

When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts public database to retrieve product information. No personal data is included in this request.

When you scan a food label photo or request ingredient analysis, the image or ingredient text is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for analysis. Images are processed immediately and not stored by us or Anthropic beyond the duration of the request.

Your dietary preference selections are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

Subscriptions

DietScan Pro subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process or store any payment information. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, which may process anonymised transaction data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

DietScan is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
